Diana has always had an interest in art, but in 2002 joined a life drawing class at Perth Museum and Art Gallery.  In turn, this led to her continuing to learn more about other forms of art.

She specialises in watercolours with various themes, some abstract, and has now moved on to using mixed media, for example pastels and collage.  One of her focuses is on acrylics using larger canvases. At the moment she is concentrating on oil painting using the beautiful Perth countryside as her inspiration.

Typically her paintings are not strictly “photographic” in nature but are loose and flowing, with bold use of colour, capturing the essence of the subject.

Diana says, "Every aspect of painting is enjoyable, right from the concept and planning, then researching possible subjects in the beautiful Perthshire scenery, mulling over and re-planning, using light and dark to form the contours of the picture. I like the use of suggestion and colour."
